Files for PC can be supplied in most formats. Vector graphics are the most ideal. Files with extensions JPEG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, which are actual size at 600 dpi, are also good for us to work from. Artwork can be supplied on DVD, CD, or via email. Artwork can also be provided on paper and, again, this is preferred to be as near to actual size as possible. We try to return the artwork you provide with your order, but there is a risk of damage or loss. We cannot guarantee return, so please make copies.
Advertees will try wherever possible to provide a basic design service free of charge. All we require is that you provide the best quality design you can, but we can work from a simple pencil sketch if that is all you have. We will send artwork to you via email for approval before we proceed with an order, and if you require changes we will be happy to accomodate this.
The most ideal formats are .ai (Adobe Illustrator) files, or other vector graphic files.
Below is a list of file formats we accept, in order of preference:
If you are using non-standard fonts within your artwork, please provide vectorised outlines of the text you require. We do have a set range of custom fonts available, which you may also choose from. For more information, please see our fonts page.
If you are unsure about how to supply artwork, please feel free to get in touch with us.
A disc containing your finalised artwork in multiple formats for your further use can be purchased at a cost of £30.
There is a common misconception that software for working with and providing images has to be expensive, well in fact there are many free alternatives. Open Source software is freely available for distribution and is developed by communities and enthusiasts to compete with their expensive commercial alternatives.
Below are a few that we recommend for creating vectorised artwork and image editting:
Inkscape allows you to create vectorised artwork, which is our preferred format for working with. If you find that you need to create vector outlines of your text, you also have the ability to do it here.Download Inkscape from here.
Gimp allows you to import, edit and compose non-vector images, much like Photoshop. Download Gimp from here.
