Supplying Graphics

Rosy Lomo screen ink Supplying Graphics

Files for PC can be supplied in most formats. Vector graphics are the most ideal. Files with extensions JPEG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, which are actual size at 300 dpi, are also good for us to work from. Artwork can be supplied on DVD, CD, or via email. Artwork can also be provided on paper and, again, this is preferred to be as near to actual size as possible. We try to return the artwork you provide with your order, but there is a risk of damage or loss. We cannot guarantee return, so please make copies.

Advertees will try wherever possible to provide a basic design service free of charge. All we require is that you provide the best quality design you can, but we can work from a simple pencil sketch if that is all you have. We will send artwork to you via email for approval before we proceed with an order, and if you require changes we will be happy to accomodate this.

Acceptable File Formats

file formats Supplying Graphics

The most ideal formats are .ai (Adobe Illustrator) files,
or other vector graphic files.

Below is a list of file formats we accept, in order of preference:

  • Illustrator files (.ai) and vectorised PDFs
  • .eps, .psd
  • JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP (preferably at least actual size and at 400 dpi, acceptable at 300 dpi)

Regarding Fonts

If you are using non-standard fonts within your artwork, please provide vectorised outlines of the text you require (see our tutorial linked below). We do have a set range of custom fonts available, which you may also choose from. For more information, please see our fonts page.

If you are unsure about how to supply artwork, please feel free to get in touch with us.

An optional disc containing your finalised artwork in multiple formats for your further use can be purchased at a cost of £30.

Do you need image software?

There is a common misconception that software for working with and providing images has to be expensive, well in fact there are many free alternatives. Open Source software is freely available for distribution and is developed by communities and enthusiasts to compete with their expensive commercial alternatives.

Below are a few that we recommend for creating vectorised artwork and image editing:

Sending Us Your Files

The easiest way to provide your artwork is by attaching them to the form when you make an enquiry. It allows two files to be attached, or you could place as many as necessary inside a zip-file and upload the zip.

For Particularly Large Files

Please bear in mind, as our form is sent via email, it is not ideal for very large file sizes (which can often be the case).

We recommend using Ge.tt or other file-sharing sites for files over 50MB.

It’s quick to use and no account is required.

Simply copy the link it gives you into our form when you make your enquiry.
